The Department of Transportation is Building EV Charger Corridors for Long Distance Trips

EV Charger Corridors

Forget Gas Stations. EV Stations Are Coming

The range of electric cars gets more impressive every year but, with limited charging stations and reasonable worry, few drivers are willing to attempt particularly long trips without relying on gasoline.

Thankfully, the Department of Transportation (DoT) has big plans to make driving electric vehicles for long distances a bit easier, by creating 48 electric vehicle charger corridors on U.S. highways, in 35 different states.

Each of these charging corridors are scheduled to be about 50 miles from each other, and the DoT plans to erect official signs on the highways to alert you of their location.

Automakers are making note of this opportunity, including Nissan, whose much-loved Nissan Leaf model is one of the most popular electric vehicles on the road. GM and BMW are also working with the DoT, just like Nissan, to make the corridors happen.

Unfortunately, we don’t know when the EV charger corridors could be completed, and it may even take years. But with so many auto companies behind the technology, including Nissan, we are confident that it won’t be too long.

Start a New Holiday Tradition with the Durango Polar Express Train Ride

Durango Polar Express Train

If You Have To Catch a Train, Catch This One

The Durango Polar Express Train Ride – inspired by the award-winning Polar Express book and popular Tom Hanks film – has made it easier than ever to bring Christmas magic for the whole family to your holiday season.

You can live the story for yourself on a real round-trip train journey to the North Pole and back on the historic Durango and Silverton Train.

Families with children of all ages are welcome to attend and everyone is encouraged to wear their pajamas, just like in the story. Once the trip begins, there will be hot chocolate, cookies, and the book will be read over the sound system.

There will even be a chance to receive a special gift from Santa himself, once the train gets to the North Pole. Santa will also lead the way in a group caroling session inside the train.

There are multiple packages for different types of seating on the train, including standard class, deluxe class, and first class, and you can even plan a private car for a large group.
