Experts at Good Housekeeping recommend the Nissan LEAF as “Tried and Tested”

The experts at Good Housekeeping recommend the Nissan LEAF as their top “Roomy Electric” vehicle pick in the November buyer’s guide. The LEAF is one of only eight cars selected in their annual 2014 car review, and was acknowledged for its impressive cruising range, enhanced value due to available federal and state tax incentives, and  it’s Around View Monitor (the only in its segment).

“As more than 64,000 American LEAF owners will tell you, the economics of going electric are simple: Buy a Nissan LEAF and save money by conveniently charging at home instead of paying more at the gas pump,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, US Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations, in a news release. “But the real beauty of the Nissan LEAF is that it’s roomy and, best of all, fun to drive, which is why it received this honor from the Good Housekeeping Research Institute.”

Good Housekeeping recommend the Nissan LEAF

Good Housekeeping chose this year’s winners based on track performance, suburban road and highway performance, and ergonomic and convenience features of each of the vehicles.

Nissan is the global leader in electric vehicles, with more than 142,000 LEAFs sold globally, including more than 64,000 LEAF owners in the US alone. The Nissan LEAF offers roomy seating for five people, boasts an EPA-estimated driving range of 84 miles, and offers a responsive, fun-to-drive experience.

Nissan Boasts World’s Most Fuel Efficient Car Lineup Overall

If you asked 100 random people what their biggest priority is when searching for a new car, we’d wager that at least half of them would mention fuel efficiency. That’s what makes Nissan’s latest title, “world’s most fuel efficient car producers for full-lines,” so important. In the 2014 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) “Trends” Report, the Nissan lineup has a rating of 26.2 combined mpg, the highest rating of any full-line automaker.

Most Fuel Efficient Car

“Reaching this point is a direct result of a dedicated company-wide effort to scrutinize every aspect of each new model to extract the most fuel efficiency possible,” said Pierre Loing, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America. “Our engineers and designers have worked hard to get us here, and we look to continuously improve fuel efficiency of our models to face the challenges of future regulations while surpassing customer expectations.”

As popular and practical as the Nissan LEAF is, it’s not fair to say that only the hybrid and subcompact cars in the Nissan lineup have great fuel numbers. From CUVs to SUVs and even all the way to pickup trucks, Nissan has made efficiency a priority across the whole lineup—because they know it’s a priority to you, the customer. Nissan Pulsar Shows Off Innovative Technology at the Paris Motor Show

For Nissan, fall is all about showing off the automaker’s new technology at the Paris Motor Show as the brand introduces its 12th product launch in 12 months. The all-new Pulsar is not only a study in class-leading space and functionality among five-door hatchbacks, but it also includes a suite of advanced technologies.

“The winners in this [competitive market] are those who are capable of bringing fresh air, new cars and technology that serves the specific needs of consumers – not only in reinforcing our offer in segments that are growing in Europe like the crossover, but also bringing technology that is specific to the consumer: fuel efficiency, emissions, driving pleasure. That is what our strategy is about,” said Nissan’s CEO Carlos Ghosn.

The new Pulsar, which went on sale in Europe on October 3rd, provides an enhanced driving experience with the Around View Monitor and Safety Shield Technologies. The Around View Monitor gives drivers a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings, making parking a breeze; while the innovative Safety Shield Technologies, which includes Moving Object Detection, provide comprehensive safety for drivers and passengers.

Man Named Moose Creates Reverse Graffiti Using Nissan LEAF

Graffiti is generally associated with vandalism, but it’s a medium that has the potential to create beautiful and inspiring works of art. No strangers to altering people’s perceptions, Nissan is looking to change the way people think of graffiti with “Reverse Graffiti” street art in Waterloo, London.

So what exactly constitutes “Reverse Graffiti?” It involves taking a high-pressure jet washer or a wire brush and cleaning dirt off of surfaces, essentially creating art by cleaning up the particulate matter created by vehicle exhaust fumes.

Famous reverse graffiti artist and format founder Moose used a jet washer powered by the Nissan LEAF to create an expansive mural in the subway station on Station’s Approach, depicting London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and The London Eye. The washer was charged with a portable device that is capable of storing energy from the LEAF’s battery to the degree that it could power an entire household for two whole days.

“This piece of art is a striking call to action that air quality is one of the biggest issues facing the citizens and visitors of Europe’s largest cities today,” said Jean-Pierre Diernaz, EV Director of Nissan Europe. “It is a reminder that electric vehicles don’t have an exhaust to emit the kind of air pollution which has stained the wall Moose has created his piece on. Working with Moose to highlight the effect of air quality on our cities through a piece of art powered by the Nissan LEAF is an exciting and powerful way of reminding people about the benefits of zero emission vehicles.”
