Save on Oil Changes with Economy Nissan in Durango, CO

Save 10% at Economy Nissan

At Economy Nissan in Durango, CO, Save on Oil Changes and Other Services

One of my least favorite car maintenance service is having my vehicles oil changed. It is the one maintenance service that never ends. With so many different opinions I wonder how often I really need to have my oil changed and why.

First, lets start with the why. Oil changes are very important, because engine oil carries out multiple duties. It is important to have clean and fresh oil to accomplish these. Think about not changing your oil like moping your whole kitchen floor with the same bucket of water. At first the water is clean, but after a while it becomes so dirty that it can no longer clean your floor and can even make a bigger mess. Similar to moping a floor, as oil ages it becomes dirty and increases wear on the engine. Not changing your oil can lead to engine part failure, cause an engine sludge build up, car parts grinding without lubrication, parts fusing together, decreasing vehicle life and parts jamming.

Now that oil is estimated to last longer and new technologies are being used in vehicles, it is suggested that you can wait until 5,000 miles to get your oil changed. If you like to play it on the safe side, you may still want to have your oil changed every 3,000 miles to increase the life of your engine.

Right now in Durango, CO, at Economy Nissan’s Spring Saving’s Event, get an oil change for the low price of $30.55 after using their 10% off any service coupon! To schedule a service appointment click here to visit their website or call 800-846-0205.

Three Nissan Models Earn Top Awards from IIHS

2013 Nissan Altima IIHS Award

2013 Nissan Altima, Versa and Juke win IIHS Top Awards

If you are looking for a safe car for your family, Nissan has three models that should make it onto your list.  The 2013 Altima, 2013 Versa and 2013 Juke have each been honored by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety by receiving top marks in their safety tests.

Both the Versa and Juke received Top Safety Pick Awards.  This means they received a rating of “Good” in the moderate overlap front, side, rollover and rear crash tests.  These models come equipped with a variety of standard safety equipment, including Nissan’s Advanced Air Bag System with dual stage, dual threshold front bags, passenger side impact air bags, Active Head Restraints, and many other features.

The 2013 Altima received the highest marks possible, winning the Top Safety Pick+ award in its segment.  This means it received a “Good” rating in the moderate overlap front, side, rollover and rear tests, as well as an “Acceptable” rating in the small overlap front test.  “The 2013 Altima is truly Nissan’s most innovative Altima ever, and the ‘Top Safety Pick Plus’ designation by IIHS reflects the engineering and design that have gone into this car to make it stand out in the class,” commented Bob Yakushi, Director of Product Safety.

We are now selling all three of these IIHS Top Safety Pick awarded models here at our dealership, Economy Nissan.  Stop by today and test drive one of Nissan’s most highly rated and safest vehicles on the road!
