As August begins, parents and students link up to prepare for going back to college. One issue for students that are traveling is what car to take. Generally the perfect back to school ride has a few common features such as reliability, safety, value, and fuel economy for conquering long road trips home without being held hostage by gas prices. Economy Nissan of Durango CO is proud to announce that the 2012 Nissan Versa has been nominated by KBB.com as one of the top 10 Best Back-To-School Cars of 2012.
Kelly Blue Book claims that affordability sets the 2012 Versa apart from the pack but don’t let the low price fool you.
“As the least expensive car in American, the Nissan Versa makes an excellent choice for students looking for the most sensible way to get from A to B. And despite its rock-bottom price tag, the 5-passenger Versa sedan includes a full suite of basic creatures comforts plus unexpected niceties like an auxiliary audio jack for portable music players.” – KBB.com
Students will be satisfied to drive long distances in the Versa that can achieve 38 miles per gallon on the highway when equipped with Nissan’s CVT. If cargo is an issue, customer should consider upgrading to the 5-door hatchback which adds more space for stashing extra laundry or whatever else your collegiate might need.
According to many automotive analysts Nissan has just recently unwrapped their amazingly clean and newly refreshed 2013 Nissan Pathfinder SUV. With cargo room for seven passengers and a significant increase in miles per gallon, families in the Durango CO might want to consider adding this model to their fleet. If you are a hardcore offroader then the 2013 Pathfinder is simply not for you. Nissan have dropped the body-on-frame design for a unibody construction which improves handling and gives the larger vehicle a much more nimble feel.
In order to achieve more sustainable fuel consumption, Nissan put the Pathfinder on a diet which allowed it to shed 500 lbs. Lighter weight gives the large SUV the ability to become easier to drive and also improves fuel economy up by 30%. Drivers can expect 20 miles per gallon in the city (which is amazing for an SUV weighing 4,149 lbs) and 26 mpg on the highway.
Powering the Pathfinder is a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 that makes 260 horsepower which would be adequate to tow 5,000 lbs when coupled to the new Nissan CVT. Customer should be on the lookout for Nissan’s new full-size SUV when it debuts at Economy Nissan later this year.
