Production on the 2015 Nissan Murano is now underway in Canton, Mississippi, meaning that we here at Economy Nissan are now one step closer to being able to serve you what might be one of Nissan’s most exciting new models this decade.
The 2015 Murano—complete with V-motion front end, LED boomerang lights, floating roof, Zero Gravity seating, and available Power Panoramic Moonroof—marks the eighth model built at Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly plant.
In order to accommodate for production of the 2015 Murano, Nissan created 1,300 jobs at the plant. Nissan also plans to move at least 85 percent of all production for vehicles sold within the United States moved to North America by the end of 2015.
“More than 11 years ago, Nissan propelled Mississippi’s automotive industry into the global spotlight, and since that time, the company has served as the cornerstone of the industry in our state,” said Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant. “Today’s debut of the first Murano manufactured in the U.S. once again puts Mississippi on the global stage and helps us further demonstrate to the world that we have a business environment that spurs success and a quality workforce that takes pride in a job well done.”
The 2015 Murano, replete with features such as Moving Object Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, and Forward Emergency Braking, will be sold in more than 100 markets around the world. To learn how you can get it at Economy Nissan, stay tuned to this space.
